Marlton tomorrow has been cancelled.  There will be no matches tomorrow (2/7).  See you all at practice on Tuesday.  I will have the Lenape Jam forms with me there.

Sunday’s match at Cherokee High School is still on at the moment.  I have not received a definite as of yet.  After running a pre match, the AM session is: 1 no match, 17 only one match, 4 have two matches.  The later have: 3 no matches, 20 just one match, 7 have two.  I will update the website after I get a confirmation either way.  Matches so far are made under the assumption that everyone shows.  We all know that is not going to happen. Those who do not have a match will be hand matched much better than the last time out.   Stay tuned.

Lenape Junior Wrestlers: 

Sunday, Feb 21 is our 10^th annual Lenape Jam and all of our wrestlers are encouraged to participate.  The format is similar to Grapevine matches.  All wrestlers will be broken into 4-man group round robins (3-matches, against all in your group).   Your child will be assigned one mat all day, thus eliminating confusion on where to go.   Groupings are determined by ability and age, therefore your child will wrestle similar children.  I will have the registration forms with me at the next couple of practices or you can download it from the website.  This event has always been a success and is our primary fundraiser.  We need to know ASAP if your child will participate.  I will address any questions and go over the Jam with you next week, or email me at AKIULIANO@COMCAST.NET.

We will be wrestling at Cherokee High School in Marlton this Sunday. They will be running a split session. Tots and Bantams (8 and under) must report for a 7:45 roll call. Midgets and up (9 and older) must report for a 9:30 roll call.  Directions are as follows:

From Route 295:
From Route 295 take the exit for Route 73 South. Travel south on Route 73 for about 5 miles and look for the Marlton Bypass (Bradley Funeral Home on right). You will need to make a left onto the Bypass and in order to do this, you must take the jughandle around Bradley Funeral Home. Once on the Bypass, travel to the 3rd traffic light and make a left onto Tomlinson Mill Road. You will pass Marlton Elementary and Marlton Middle Schools on your left. The high school on your left.  Go to the traffic light and make a left, then take first left to enter the parking lot.

From Route 70:
Go to the Marlton Circle (Olga’s Diner) and take Route 73 South to the Marlton Bypass and then follow the above directions.

I would like to congratulate the team on the great wrestling Sunday. I would also like to apologize to those who’s match-ups were questionable. Unfortunately, there was a high level of wrestlers this Sunday that did not receive a bout from the computer, therefore having us to “hand match” more than we would have liked. Many of these bouts were put together with the best intentions. However, we are subject to objective rankings and inaccurate weights. Unfortunately, many of our wrestlers had to give up skill, age, and weight in order to get a match. The three teams that participated were small and I anticipate this week at Marlton ( a large team) will provide larger and better match ups for all.

All wrestlers must report for roll call @ 8:15 am.  Wrestling will be held at the Maple Shade High School this Sunday.  Below are the directions:
West on Rt. 38

Follow 38 West. After signs for Rt. 73 continue to follow 38 west for 3 lights. Just before the third light you will see a Lone Star restaurant on your right and an Outback restaurant on your left. Stay to your right at the light and at the light make a quick right (there is a sign for Maple Shade). This puts you on Coles road. Follow Coles road about 4 tenths of a mile and make a right onto S. Clinton Rd. The school will be right in front of you. Stay on S. Clinton Rd around a sharp left turn to Frederick Rd and make a right onto Frederick Rd. Make the first right into the school.

Hello everyone. Here are the details for the remainder of the season as we know them so far:

Sunday 1/31: at Maple Shade, roll call 8am for everyone

Sunday 2/7: at Marlton, roll call 7:30 am (for Tots and Bantams) and at 9:30 am (all others)

Saturday 2/13: at Willingboro, roll call 1:15 pm for everyone

Sunday 2/21 will be our Lenape Jam

Sunday 2/28 will be our Grapevine Tournament

This Saturday we travel to Washington Township for our match.  We must ALL (no split session) be there at 8:30  AM for a 9:00 AM  start.  Again, if you are running late and are still coming, please call my cell (215) 738-4548 and let me know before 8:30 AM.  I anticipate many matches as Wash Twp and Egg Harbor are both over 100 each.  Attached below are the directions:

From Route 42:   295 south to-

1. South on Route 42 past exit for Atlantic City Expressway.
2. Continue South on Rt. 42, now the Blackhorse Pike to the second traffic light, Greentree Road.
3. Right on Greentree Road for approximately 2-3 miles to the 4th traffic light Hurffville-Cross Keys Road.
4. Make a left onto Hurffville-Cross Keys Road
5. WTHS will be a half-mile on left.
6. 509 Hurffville – Cross Keys Road.

Much to address in this post.
1. Our first home match is this Sunday (17th). We will need parents to please help set up the mats on Saturday @ 5:00, as well as, break them down on Sunday afternoon.   Sunday, for those 8 and under, roll call is 7:30 for 8:00 start.   Those 9 and older, 9:30 roll call for a 10:00 start.   If you plan to attend, but are running late, you must call me on my cell (215) 738-4548 so I can get your child entered.
2. Please try to attend Tuesday night’s practice as the high school wrestlers will be handing out the wrestling t-shirts to our boys.
3. Wednesday the 20th, the annual Lenape Junior Wrestling night will be held at the High School, right before the varsity match. Our boys will walk in front of the Mat and be announced as a group while given some recognition for their hard work. They are encouraged to stay and watch the varsity match. Please have them wear their Lenape Wrestling sweatshirt.
