The coach of Delran just emailed and changed the start times for Saturday.  THE NEW TIMES ARE:  12:30 Roll Call  -  1:00 START!!!  I will go over it agasin at practice!!

Our next match is this Saturday at Delran High School and not at Gateway.  All are to report to DELRAN HIGH SCHOOL FOR 12:30 roll call and a prompt 1:00 start.

This is the last month for the season.

All of us in the Lenape Wrestling family would like to congratulate Coach Joe Robinson of Lenape High School on achieving his 100th victory as a coach last night.  This is an impressive milestone and we are are all proud of Coach.  Way to to go!!!

Parents, we will be hosting out 12th annual Lenape Jam afterall.  It is a tournament structured similar to grapevine matches.  Wrestlers are placed in a 4-man round robin and wrestle all in the group.  I will explain in further detail at tomorrow’s practice.  This tournament has always been a success and the children love it!!

1. Seneca this Sunday -split session -8 and under (as of 12/31) reports @ 10:00,  9 and older reports @ 11:30
2. Sunday, Jan 15 at home – full session – report by 8:30 AM
3. Saturday, Jan 21 @ RV – full session – report by 2:30 PM
4. Saturday, Jan 28 @ home – full session – report by 8:30 AM
5. Sunday, Feb 12 @ Delran – full session – report by 9:30 AM.
6. Sunday, Feb 26 “league Tournament” -location TBD.

Feb 18th Best of Best – 9 yrs & older – must qualify.  I will explain later.

Many times last year in practice I have mentioned Jordan Burroughs’ name to the boys and explained to them what it takes to be a champion.  Lenape Junior Wrestling would like to congratulate the South Jersey native (Winslow Twp) for winning  GOLD over the weekend at the Worlds in Iran.  He is the first American to do this since 2006.  This is the equivalent of the Olympics in non- Olympic years.   Mr. Burroughs is a driven, humble young man who is a great example of applying and believing in oneself.   I would like to pass on the advice he gave me when I asked about what it took to get there.  “Practice your hardest every time you come into the room, give it your best every time.” This is true for all sports and school.   Parents and wrestlers, get ready for another year, we are going to take it up a notch!!  Congratulations to Jordan Burroughs!!

Here’s to looking forward to an OUTSTANDING Season!

A tremendous opportunity for those interested in instruction and drilling from Jordan Burroughs and Darrion Caldwell.  Both highly decorated wrestlers will be hosting, along with RAW241, a clinic at Clearview’s Junior practice facility in Mantua on June 19^th from 3-6PM.  Cost is $65.

Having met both of these NJ natives, I can say they are two of the most polite and generous individuals you may ever meet.  These are the types of athletes and men we wish our boys to become.  Both are currently training for the Olympic team.

The coaches would like to congratulate all the wrestlers on another great season.  The improvement seen from the first day of practice to yesterday was very encouraging.  Over the last few months, the boys became wrestlers.  Some had mores success than others, but none of the boys quit on the mat, a true testament to their toughness.  We (coaches) would like to thank you for letting us be part of your sons growth and hope to see you all at the banquet.

I will let you know when the banquet is as soon as I can make arrangements.  The wrestlers will receive their trophies and another item (to be determined).  The banquet is informal as well.  Stay tuned.
